Windows Autopilot Pre-Provisioning (White-glove)

Hi,

Does anyone can help what would be the cause of the issue with Windows Autopilot Pre-Provisioning (White-Glove)? We did assign user & grab device hash then deployed to autopilot group. The computer process set up complete properly, device RESEAL. However, we faced issue when we start up the laptop at the login OOBE screen we didn't see the assign user appear?

I used to see the login page user UPN already attached, it is just waiting user to put the password only. In my case, the sign in ask user to enter their UPN. Is there any suggestions?

Note:  Windows 11 23H2, and Windows 11 24H2 through the same behaviour.

Thanks,

Phearin

Hi, as of 2021 Microsoft has disabled auto-filling of the UPN in Autopilot pre-provisioning for security reasons, so the OOBE screen asks you to type in your account. With service-release 2207 the feature was restored but only on certified models/OEMs (Surface and a few Lenovo, Dell, HP business): if your laptop does not fit, the field remains blank. Verify that Intune is at least at build 2207 and Windows is up to date, assign the user before starting the stream, wait for ESP to finish before doing Reseal, and use Refresh on the green page to load the assignment. If you still want the UPN pre-filled, you must switch to a user-driven profile or have a technician enter the address during provisioning

micheleariisActually we are testing on the Lenovo models and the profile setting is on "user driven mode" too. Yet, it doesn't work as expected.

Hi phearin how's your trouble shooting on this? I'm keen to learn the root cause if you're able to share it.

Seems that's this issue is going around with the Windows 11 versions you mentioned, If you've gone through the troubleshooting steps and it still consistently happening try contacting your respective OEM vendor(s) for assistance.

jayr_barriosWe are testing Windows AP using pre-provisioning method along with user pre-define assignment too. The deployment pre-provisioning is going well and device already reseal.

What happen? after user starts the laptop and the OOBE sign in screen pop up, we didn't see the sign in user pre-defined, we expect user email (UPN) already mapped and waiting to input the password only. Yet, what we tested, the sign in screen is display as usual where it requires to enter both email and password.
