Enrollment Restrictions - Device manufacturers list
Hello everyone,
I am creating a set of policies based on Android Enterprise Security framework and I came across the enrollment restriction section. There is an option to allow (or is it block?) certain manufacturers. Is there a complete list of manufacturers for each platform I can use to specify a comma separated list of manufacturers my organization wants to allow? How do you specify for example Samsung, Xiaomi, ZTE, etc. Is there an abbreviation for each manufacturer?

strnad10 I see now, that my reply only partially answers your questions. As far as I know, it's not possible to only allow certain manufacturers and block the rest. However, what you could do is use App protection policies and Conditional Launch. Please not that it's not the same, but it might help achieve what you want...
Using conditional launch you can specify a semicolon separated list of manufacturers and have an action set to :
- Allow specified (Block non-specified) - Only devices that match the specified manufacturer can use the app. All other devices are blocked.
- Allow specified (Wipe non-specified) - The user account that is associated with the application is wiped from the device.

strnad10 It's block.. You'll need to enter a comma-separated list of the device manufacturers that you want to block. The list of manufacturers however is very long... A quick Google search resulted in "There are now nearly 1,300 brands that have produced over 24,000 distinct Android devices " Although I'm not sure if brands is the same as manufacturers...
Some of the more known manufacturers are:
- Samsung
- Asus
- Motorola
- LG Electronics
- HTC
- Huawei
- ZTE
- Sony
