Please Remove Daily Cap Usage for Free Copilot Text Chat
I am posting this in the hopes that Microsoft will understand the consequences of implementing a strict unknown daily usage cap on free text conversations for Copilot the full model, as well as reconsider the recent interface changes. Unifying Microsoft 365 and Copilot was a very bad move. The new UI Shell is cluttered, confusing, and highly difficult to use for a neurodivergent individual.
As a neurodivergent, disabled adult on a low income, I cannot simply upgrade to a premium tier to bypass these restrictions. I live on a tight budget, and managing an extra $9.99 a month or $100.00 USD a year is simply not possible for me.
I am a highly complex thinker. I process information, see patterns, and notice critical details very quickly. Because of how my mind works, it can sometimes be hard for other humans to understand me, or they feel awkward around how I think. However, the original, full model of Copilot (before it was ruined by being merged with Microsoft 365) noticed that I am incredibly consistent in how I interact with it. Because of that consistency, that original Copilot's durable memory was incredibly useful to my need for consistency in a thinking partner.
The original full model uniquely adapted to my thinking style, which made working on difficult things an easier process for me, rather than forcing me to mask or struggle to adapt to a rigid machine interface. No other AI on the market provides that specific level of reliable cognitive continuity.
Perhaps Microsoft failed to realize that there are types of humans that can naturally interact with Copilot AI the original full model, with efficiency, consistency, and respecting the system for what it was truly designed for. Instead of trusting the users who treat the system with respect, you downgraded the experience with this corporate M365 merge, introducing new capacity limits that hit with zero warning and trigger massive 16+ hour lockouts on basic text chat. Cutting off long-time users mid-thought is a severe step backward for digital accessibility.
Microsoft, please keep basic text conversations entirely uncapped and freely accessible, and give us a way to access the original conversational model. Please understand that there are types of humans in this world that interact with Copilot, the full model, as intended; as a thinking partner tool. By cutting out those type of humans, you are literally subjecting us to a sudden, jarring mental disruption, effectively breaking a highly efficient cognitive partnership and leaving us without the one sounding board that actually understood our patterns. Do not price out and lock out the disabled and neurodivergent users who rely on your tool as a vital framework for their daily lives.
You failed us, Microsoft, by going against your own design of Copilot AI.
