Android 12 users cannot access Copilot after migration
My account was migrated successfully from copilot.microsoft.com to copilot.com and all my conversations are available on the web.
However, on Android 12 devices the Copilot app only shows: "Your Copilot has moved".
The Install button opens Microsoft 365 Copilot, but my Copilot conversations are not available there.
We tested several devices and observed:
- Android 12: not working
- Android 13: working
Devices tested:
- Surface Duo (Android 12)
- Galaxy Note 10+ (Android 12)
- Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (Android 13)
Could Microsoft confirm whether the new Copilot experience requires Android 13 or later?
Thanks.

I've done all the possible tests, I've recompiled the APK removing the version limitation so it could be installed on my phones with Android 12, but internally it uses Android 13 APIs and it's impossible to make it work on Android 12...
What’s inconceivable is that a company like Microsoft approves a migration under these conditions, because the previous APP Microsoft Copilot 30.0.440814001 was compatible from Android 8+ and the new one Microsoft Copilot 16.0.20506.20016 only from Android 13+. You've left millions of devices out of the equation, without a real reason, since for us to be able to talk to an AI, it’s impossible that it needs Android 13 APIs. It’s simply a bad decision, which, as always, no one will fix, and users will end up using another AI that does work on all devices, and then they’ll wonder why they’re being abandoned...

It's a serious flaw in the Microsoft Copilot update, they made an app compatible only with Android 13 or higher devices, leaving all Android 12 or lower devices unsupported, even though Copilot has been working perfectly until now and any other competing AI tool still works fine on these devices. I don't know why Microsoft did this, but it's a shot in the foot.
For some reason, posting detailed info about the issue in this forum is considered SPAM, so I'm putting the link to the Microsoft Copilot Feedback Portal here, where I was able to post it correctly: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/475871fd-79b6-f111-aad1-6045bd8232d6

If Copilot stopped working right after the migration, I’d first make sure the app and Google Play Services are fully updated. Clearing the Copilot app cache and signing out/in again may also help. If it still fails only on Android 12, it could be a compatibility issue rather than the migration itself.

Same issue but I’m experiencing an issue with Microsoft Edge on Android. Starting today (September 22, 2026), whenever I try to visit copilot.microsoft.com, Edge automatically redirects me to the Google Play Store to install the Copilot app. I prefer using Copilot in the browser and do not want to install the app.
And even when i try to install the copilot app it does not let me do anything and thinks I need a license or subscription to access it like copilot is litterly supposed to be free and also even when i try to get rid of the app redirection it for some dumb reason it redirects me to from copilot.microsoft.com to copilot.com and they put in restrictions like after a lot of chats you must wait for a specific time period and a couple months ago you guys removed the ability to use copilot without registration like come on that is so dumb I want Microsoft Copilot to be fixed revert how copilot was before
