Your feedback and suggestions please!
As IT, we would love your feedback on an industry or more generic terminology for your end users/organizational units that benefit from productivity tools who do not have an office, or who may not have a dedicated space at all to work from; or be completely engaged through mobile devices.
We would love your thoughts on how these users are referred to by your teams, or how they are thought of within your organization. Would welcome terms you currently use and any suggestions on what you think the industry-accepted term should be.
Thanks!

Thanks for answering! Still would love to get some more feedback/thoughts on how IT categorizes or names these types of end users. It seems (with a couple of these answers) that it is usually very role/function specific...was seems like this would be standard for a lot of orgs.
Thanks again, have any thoughts...please just let us know.

As a third sector organisation, you go to where people need you the most, into the community, partnering with local organisations or using venues you have little control over sometimes with minimal IT. With outreach, venues include libraries, foodbanks & prisons. The use of IT can be challenging in these venues, sometimes it’s simpler to just use pen and paper despite investments in Office 365/Dynamics 365.
It does provide a valuable service and helps people, though, that wouldn’t necessarily be able to access services otherwise. Sometimes a smartphone might be all that’s keeping an adviser or caseworker connected to the office. They may sometimes have a laptop with 4G dongle (coverage can be iffy and not always reliable) and the use of iPads has been tried but wasn’t a clear advantage.

- We are a retailer and refer to these colleagues by their roles, call centre colleagues, distribution colleagues and store colleagues. We more group the roles that are Laptop and desk based as Office staff.
