what does first release for selected users mean?
When a first release is installed are other users not affected at all? Are what happens when binaries are updated? Are there two sets of binaries?

Yes, that is exactly what it means - users who are selected for First Release will have their Office 365 Pro Plus updated with First Release bits/binaries, as well as access to newer features for the online components.

So other users are affected too?!

This is my understanding:
- Online (web) features that affect only single users are deployed to FR selected users and not to all other users.
- Online (web) features that would, in their nature, affect all users are not deployed at all if FR selected is configured.
- Office ProPlus FR builds (i.e. bits) are deployed only to FR selected users and not to others. Depending on the configured default channel, FRCC (i.e. Insider) or FRDC will be deployed to FR selected users.

Salvatore Biscari, so that would mean that FR for selected users isn't really the same as FR, so not really fit for purpose of testing what is coming up.

If you mean that FR selected users will not necessarily get a preview of all the new online features, while FR (whole tenant) users will get them all, then yes, this is my understanding.
But, of course, I hope someone other could confirm this (or not...).
