Strange Occurrance: Message Gets Sent After Being Deleted
Have a customer who sent a meeting invite as a delegate to their manager. They saw the message was still caught in the Outbox after some time. They delete the message in the Outbox. On another day, they send an email to a distribution list. The message was caught in their Outbox again and after a few hours they delete the message from the Outbox. Today, they get notification from the users that they received the invites and message with today's date on the message.
I have looked in Options and see they do have Send Immediately checked but the Send on Schedule not checked, so I had them check the option to send on a schedule.
A message trace shows the message was sent to a bunch of people successfully but others failed with status message: Reason: [Stage: DeliverPreDelivery];StoreDriver.Rules; message is deleted by mailbox rules
1) What could have happened with these two messages?
2) When someone sends a message as another person, does the message get put into the Outbox of the actual sender or the delegator? I assume when the message gets sent, it goes to the actual senders Outbox and a copy gets sent to the delegator's Send Items folder while being sent to the recipients.

The Outbox folder is used "locally", copying messages will happen only after they have been sent successfully. Do check for any rules involved, as the message trace results seems to be clear on that (including hidden rules via MFMAPI, if no match is found by examining the "regular" rules).
As for the actual "stuck in Outbox" issue, there can be a variety of reasons, ranging from bad network to large Outlook profiles to whatnot. The topic is covered extensively online, do a search.
