Skype Chat within Word Online
I think it has to be in a Co-edit-able document, meaning NOT in a Document Library that requires Check Out (which many of ours do). Once co-editing, a little dialog icon shows up (light blue) that if you click on opens a sidebar chat window. The chat window is not branded as Skype, I wish it was. The chats are not persisted from one session to the next.

Hi there,
I know this is an old thread, but it exactly describes my problem. So the client wants a library within Shreapoint to be able to store multiple docs and chat within those docs with Office Online. What sort of Sharepoint App should I add in order to achieve these objectives and is "Co-edit-able". Thanks heaps in advance
- Nov 20, 2017As we have said here, there is not a setting to enable SBO in Office Online...it should appear by default. What Office 365 Plan do you have?

This tenant is Office 365 Business Essentials, however I have tried the same thing with my own E3 tenant and it behaves exactly the same. The attachment is a screen shot of what I am experiencing, as you can see Skype for Business is signed in, I am using Edge. I'm unsure where the problem lies.
Thank you
