Skype button in Outlook on the Web for on-prem Skype for Business?
I have noticed that if I login to Outlook on the web with an account that is enabled in Skype for Business Online that I get the nice Skype button in the bar on the top right. This opens a sidebar where I can search for people in the org and do IM etc.
If I use an account that has on-prem Skype for Business I don't get it. However, I am still able to IM users by hovering over them in an email message and choosing the chat icon.
Is on-prem Skype for Business ever going to get the better integration to Outlook on the web?
Thanks...
Matt

- Mike PlatvoetSteel ContributorHi Matt, I don't think that will be very likely, since there is no real integration for the URL that needs to be set. I suggest that you post your wishes to https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/273494-outlook-and-calendar?filter=top&page=3 and get a lot of votes there. Microsoft keeps a close eye on that page.

Thanks Mike. There is obviously some kind of integration there as I can use IM the old way by hovering over the contact in Outlook on the web. Seems a shame it isn't a consistent experience if you're in a hybrid scenario with some users on-prem and some Online.
Cheers for the reply.

- Mike PlatvoetSteel ContributorI know the feeling - we are having the same behavior here in our tenant. The onprem Skype client is then the only option left, unfortunately...
