secured access to an excell file
Hi all,
I have a solution for a couple of schools in an excel file.
I am looking for a secure way in which I can control the access to a certain excel file for one school/person, that excel file is stored on my office 365.
I want the school/person to be able to work in the excel file and save the file when done, but it must not be downloadable by that school/person.
Is this possible?
I hope this makes sense.
Your reply is greatly apreciated.
Regards,
Gerard Heij.

Hi Gerard, something like this is possible but it would require setting up by an admin. Some Office 365 licences come with rights management and with this activated, it should allow protecting documents and granting usage rights. There are built in permissions levels, with Reviewer the one that would allow someone to edit and save the file back to its original location but not much more than that.
Not sure if this would work in your particular set of circumstances but it's worth knowing about. This is the main documentation page that expands on this and some other members may have some other ideas as well - What is Azure Information Protection?.
Also another resource worth reviewing - Information Rights Management.
