PowerPoint in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online failing to open
I've uploaded a PowerPoint to one of the Channels my team in Microsoft Teams .
When I open this .pptx from the SharePoint library in PowerPoint Online I get:
When I open the same file form SharePoint in PowerPoint nothing happens. When I open it from PowerPoint and open the PowerPoint's location then it loads without any problem.
When I'm within the Teams app and I open it in PowerPoint online, it opens as a blank presentation:
More annoyingly it seems to even save this blank presentation. At least ift says saved at the top of the page.
From within Teams if I open the presentation in PowerPoint then it opens fine.
Within Teams if I open the presentation using the PowerPoint integration to open the pptx from a tab then I get a blank powerpoint:
It looks like I might be hitting some limitations with my presentation.
I then tried to create a new PowerPoint Presentation using PowerPoint Online and I'm still seeing similar error messages. The only difference being that the previewer in Teams seems to work better and is able to open my presentation.
Is there anywhere an artcile on the limitations of the PowerPoint viewers?
- Which is the size of the presentation? Microsoft seems to have updated Office Online recently and I have also found some weird problems when editing Office documents in the browser
- It was about 40 slides with a lot of images. Not sure what size it was but quite large
