OneDrive not syncing

Hi,

I have added a folder to my OneDrive using a browser, waited for over an hour but it still doesn't show on my PC.

OneDrive on my pc says "your files are synced" which is not true.

Due to the general lack of verbosity in OneDrive, there is no way to tell when it will check again or when it hat checked last.

Due to the lack of ease of use in OneDrive, there is no "sync now" button

I would like to stop wasting money and continue my working day, what should I do?

Regards,

Robert.

  • A quick way to resume OneDrive sync is by clicking the OneDrive icon in the bottom taskbar, then selecting Settings and choosing Pause Syncing. You can select any duration option. Once you see the pause icon on OneDrive, go back to Settings and select Resume Syncing.

This will prompt OneDrive to start syncing any pending files that need to be updated.

I hope this helps! It has always worked for me.

  • Try to fix by this:

    • Check OneDrive Status: Make sure OneDrive is running. Look for the OneDrive icon in the taskbar. If it's not there, you might need to start OneDrive manually.
    • Restart OneDrive: Sometimes, simply restarting OneDrive can resolve sync issues. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar and select Close OneDrive. Then, open OneDrive again from the Start menu.
    • Unlink and Relink OneDrive:
      • Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar and select Settings.
      • Go to the Account tab and click Unlink this PC.
      • Follow the prompts to unlink your account, then sign in again to relink it.
    • Reset OneDrive:
      • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
      • Type %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset and press OK.
      • After the reset, start OneDrive manually from the Start menu.
    • Check Storage Space: Ensure you have enough storage space in your OneDrive account. If your storage is full, OneDrive won't sync new files.
    • Check File Path Length: OneDrive has a limit on the file path length. Make sure the total path length (including the file name) is less than 400 characters.
    • Update OneDrive: Ensure you have the latest version of OneDrive installed. You can check for updates in the OneDrive settings.
