On premise group to Office 365 group
We are starting to migrate our groups to the cloud and we found that there is a great big list of groups we've used in the past they are not elligible to be migrated, ie. mail enabled security group,...
Considering the "migration" process is just setting up membership and few attributes, you can simply do it manually or via PowerShell. I'd caution against converting to O365 groups in Hybrid scenarios, there's a loooong list of issues (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt668829(v=exchg.150).aspx)

As to the long list of issues with O365 groups & and Hybrid... does this only pertain to on-premise users? or everyone? Because about 90% of my company is already migrated into O365. We have a pretty small amount still left on-prem.
Most of the issues are for on-prem users, once you migrate to O365 they will be gone.
