Office 365 Subdomain Setup

Hi All,

Recently registered for Office 365 for our Nonprofit.

We currently have an external website, and I'd like to add a subdomain pointing towards Office 365 (and keep our website at our existing host).

So for example https://www.mynonprofit.org.uk is what the public visits and id like https://office.mynonprofit.org.uk to be were my users can log in to O365.

I know this will be done from our hosts control panel, I'm new to this and just checking that this is an acceptable way of setting up O365? Also, if I do have it setup as described above, is it possible to customise the log in page? Its no biggie if not! After all its generous enough of MS to donate O365 to us in the first place!

Kind Regards,

Dan.

You are not going to get that level of control. User can login into portal.office.com, when they enter their upn/email address it will recoginize their email domain and redirect them to the correct O365 tenant. When you create your tenant, you primary domain will be used to create the SPO url, in your case, mynonprofit.sharepoint.com will be the url for all of the spo sites and the new sites will be created in either the mynonprofit.sharepoint.com/sites or mynonprofit.sharepoint.com/teams paths. You cannot create your own paths or change the root SPO address after your tenant has been created, so be careful when you are choosing your tenant name. You can add multiple email delivery domains, however, only the first one is used by SharePoint.

Here is an Domain FAQ that may be helpful.
