Office 365 "Office Online" license donot make sence
Hi all
I have Office 365 E5 subscription.
I want to know what is the difference between the user who have "Office Online" license and the user who do not have "Office Online " license.
AFAIK, although the user who donot have the "Office Online" license they also can open the office file stored in sharepoint online site by online.
So, Is it ok to recognize that the existence of an office online license is meaningless?
Any help will be appreciated…
Regards,
Tobey

Office Online has a free version, which is available to everyone, and a licensed version, which is included in Office 365. (I don't know the difference, if any...)
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_Online
Afaik the functionality is already included in the SPO plans, so simply disabling Office Online doesn't do much. There are plans however that do not include SPO, for which disabling Office Online should disable access to the Office apps.
- Might I ask if you consider this as a very important issue?
