Not able to refresh stock data
An error message:" You need to be online to refresh your linked data types. Check your connection and try again" When I refreshed stock data today and not able to get the updated data. They just fixed a week long issue yesterday, another issue happens today, please help to fix it asap.

Obtaining the same error as the original threat creator.
The repeated “need to be online” error means Excel cannot complete the linked-data request; it does not by itself prove that your internet connection is down. Stocks data is retrieved from an online source, so the account and Excel environment also matter.
Confirm Excel is signed into the account associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription and install available Office updates. Then test a new workbook containing one Stocks data type, using its Data Type refresh command. Open the same test in Excel for the web with the same account and compare the result.
If web refresh succeeds but desktop refresh fails, that narrows the investigation to the desktop environment. If both fail, record the timestamps and error for support. Keep the existing linked cells intact: converting them to text removes the connection and can break formulas. I cannot confirm a service outage from this report.
