"New Outlook" stopped auto-updating inbox
- Apr 24, 2023This has been fixed now (by an update it seems).
JIC anyone else comes across this, in our org we saw this a few times and running a "Repair" worked for us every time. None of our users we did a "Repair" on have had the issue recur so far - and it's been several months now.
We have found these steps will prompt for admin credentials, but so far our non-admin users have been able to do these steps too, without any admin credentials or elevation.
- Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
- Scroll down to Outlook (new)
- Select the ellipse "..." > Advanced options **
- Scroll down and select the Repair button***
- You may need to close and re-launch New Outlook
**UAC may prompt some users for admin credentials, but if you hit "Cancel" on the pop up, so far it's let us proceed anyway.
***UAC may pop up a 'do you want to allow to make changes on your device?'. So far, if you hit "No" it won't prompt you for admin credentials and will just proceed and run the repair anyway. If you hit yes may ask for admin credentials.
They may change or fix the ability to get around the UAC, or remove the UAC prompts in future windows updates.
