Multi-Forest Hybrid Exchange Deployment
Does anyone know if Exchange 2010 is supported for multi-forest hybrid? The content of this link says that 2010 is supported, however the "applies to" does not list 2010. https://technet.microsoft.co...

Hi Michael,
Exchange 2010 SP3 is supported for multi-forest hybrid deployments.
The official announcement was made ad Ignite last year: https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/2016/BRK3217-TS
You can watch the video or only download the slides from Timothy and Nicolas for more information.

It is supported, i recommend to setup a hybrid in 2013 in your 2010 exchange environment. If in any case you arbitrage and health mailboxes get messed you can move them to the 2013 server when you also setup the mailbox server role.
- Aug 21, 2017There is no reason to install Exchange 2013 in the 2010 organization, except you want to use the new features for your on-premise users. And there are some new features if you like to use a shared smtp namespace for multi-forest hybrid connections. Then go Exchange 2016.
There is also many information in the slides/videos from Tim and around the Internet when to update your "hybrid" servers. (There is no "hybrid server(s) - it is the overall organization).
