Migration from SP 2010 site collection to SP Online
I am having one SP 2010 site collection created in my client environment and i have been told to migrate it to O365 site.
What are the main design considerations to be taken care for this migration:
am having one 3rd-party control which has some 400 fields and its various permutations /combinations along with validations implemented in SP 2010 as UI Forms, thats targeted against the splists. But the issue is, this 3-rd party control is not available in O365, i mean, O365 -SPO doesnt not support this control.
-What I need to do in order not to lose the functionality? How to deal with this scenario like whether to re-build the complete fields/forms and implement using JSOM or do something else
-How to implement branding in SPO in O365 ?
-Someone from prev.team has worked with SP D and accessed, modified the prod.env and made some damage on the existing customer env. After this incident customer told us to not to use SP D for branding excercise. This is a challenge for me,as without using SP D how to implement branding, css, jQuery , JS etc?
-Is there any other alternative for branding the SPO sites without using SP D?

The best way to brand in SPO i've found is to use JavaScript. You can still use SharePoint Designer but i don't think it will be usefull for much longer.
- For an scenario where the source to be migrated is heavily customized, I recommend you to use a migration tool...you have also to bear in mind that heavily customized scenarios might not be supported by those migration tools
