Mails from my organisation comes to Junk-E-Mail

Hello,

one user receives emails from inside the Organisation marked as a Junk-Email. Not all and not every time.

I have no idea from what it depends. Nevertheless it should not happen inside my Organisation.

I cannot mark the whole domain as a safe (eg.: *@companyname.com) sender, because I get an error that is not possible to do inside the Organisation. Even if I mark only one email Address as a "safe" sometimes it goes to a Junk folder

In Exchange I also created a Email rule with SCL set to "0". I red somewhere that in Exchange 2016 is possible to set "-1". But in MS365 it seems that is not possible.

I have compared Email headers of a "normal" email and of a "junk" and they look fine.

The SPF also looks OK.

A bit late to this party, but for anyone else searching for this solution, you can set the SCL to -1 in M365. It's actually so in plain sight that it's really easy to miss.

In your rule condition, for the action choose Modify the Message Properties with Set the Spam Confidence Level. When you set the level, just leave it on the Bypass Spam Filtering option and save. It's the only one that doesn't have a number, and it looks like it's just the drop down selector name, but that's actually a setting, and when you save, it will show the action as set to '-1'.

    Please check on follow:

    1. Check Spam Filter Policies: Ensure that your spam filter policies in Microsoft 365 Defender are correctly configured. Sometimes, internal emails can be flagged if they meet certain criteria

    2. Safe Sender List: Although you mentioned difficulties with marking the entire domain as safe, you can try adding individual email addresses to the safe sender list. This can sometimes help, even if it’s not a perfect solution

    3. Transport Rules: Create a transport rule in the Exchange Admin Center to bypass spam filtering for internal emails. This can be done by navigating to Mail Flow > Rules and creating a new rule to set the SCL to -1 for internal emails

    4. Report False Positives: Encourage users to mark emails as “Not Junk” when they find legitimate emails in their Junk folder. This helps improve the spam filter’s accuracy over time

    5. Review Email Headers: Since you’ve already compared email headers and found no significant differences, consider looking for subtle clues or patterns that might indicate why certain emails are being flagged

  • hello hope you are welldavid_ooo !

Would it be possible for you to share the email headers?

Do you have DKIM and DMARC set up correctly?

    Looking forward to your reply

    Cheers!
