Thank you ElijahEdmunds, we are experiencing the same issue in some tenants. Markus vickery, have you made any progress regarding this issue with Microsoft Support?

Johan_Andersson not yet. but i can confirm that removing the app from the "required" assignment stops the app from reinstalling.
- Markus vickeryApr 19, 2023Copper ContributorMicrosoft support so far: "Since issue does not occur when application indent is set to Available, this means that the uninstall (or to be more precise, the Re-install) command, is not coming from Intune.
A possible reason could be corrupted or not completed indexing. As far as I know, in MacOS indexing is performed/handled by Spotlight, so it is worth looking in this direction."- Markus vickeryApr 19, 2023Copper ContributorAnd after trying to escalate the case:
The escalation team had already been contacted before I send you my previous email.
The detection method depends on the Operating System's structure and limitations. In Windows, for example, can be a file on a specific location or an entry in the registry etc. Since MacOS uses spotlight for indexing/searching this is the only option Intune has to detect the app.- Markus vickeryApr 20, 2023Copper ContributorUnfortunately the MS support case didn't really resolve the issue, but we are archiving the case now. They did however report the issue to the product team. Here's the final response before archiving the case:
"You are absolutely right about the documentation. I have already reported, the whole situation, to the product group.
Regarding the actual issue, for now, the workaround would be to set these apps as available so users can download them from the company portal (just like you did)."
