Is Firewall Adaptive Profiling Effective

I'm researching some performance issues between on-premises AD using ADFS for authentication and Office 365. I don't see any issues in a brief network capture and am waiting on a Fiddler trace. The client is using Adaptive Profiling from their firewalls (don't have a manufacturer yet) which is new to me. Does anyone think I should suspect this type of firewall rule creation and look into it further or is this optimal? Thanks for any help! Tad
