Hotmail emails sent from 365 outlook website are failing SPF
Greetings,
We've just recently realized that any emails sent from our 365 account using the web interface with our original @ hotmail.com account are being flagged as spam for SPF failure. The exact same emails sent with a from @ outlook.com pass just fine.
Here is an example from the logs:
Authentication-Results: mx-inbound41-6.us-east-2c.ess.aws.cudaops.com; spf=fail (sender IP is 104.36.18.41) smtp.mailfrom=email address removed for privacy reasons; dkim=fail (nil) header.d=nil; dmarc=none action= header.from=email address removed for privacy reasons
Received-SPF: fail (mx-inbound41-6.us-east-2c.ess.aws.cudaops.com: domain of email address removed for privacy reasons does not designate 104.36.18.41 as permitted sender)
As you can imagine this is a big issue for us, as our hotmail account has been in use for 20+ years and has all sorts of website authentications attached to it.
Can someone please look into this, add the proper SPF to the @ hotmail.com dns and resolve?
Cheers,
Ajar
