Enable-Mailuser for cloud only users
Hey,
I have a question concerning turning cloud-only users into Mail Users in Office 365 without re-creating the user accounts (as they already are licensed for SPO and need to remain licensed with the exact same user account).
So my question is if there is an equivalent to Enable-Mailuser command in the O365 world as well?
Agree with Dean_Gross, and if you want to assign Exchange Server mailbox, you need to sync users with Azure AD Connect

That won't help as we need to migrate those users to the AD in a couple of months and then we need to do a mail migration for those users. So assigning an ExO license is no option...

This cmdlet is available only in on-premises Exchange Server 2016.
Assigning an Exchange license to the user will create a mailbox and provide that functionality

Hello Dean, I had a mailuser assigned with exchange license (EXO) - removed from Exchange contacts and converted imidiately into MailBox.
Once the Exchange license is removed it didn't revert back to mailUser, it's removed from Exchange mailboxes and remained User, or should I say AAD account.
Any way to convert this User back to mailUser?
Tnx
