Employee performance management tools in Microsoft 365?

So we are a relatively large organization and in drastic move, we've decided to shift from Google Workspace to Microsoft, primarily centering our employees around Microsoft Teams while trying to encourage them to use Copilot as effectively as possible. In this transition, one of the platforms we will be saying goodbye to will be our performance management software. Are there any Microsoft native performance management tools that can help us go through goal-setting, performance reviews, and feedback? Third party suggestions would also be good but only if they fit into the whole Microsoft workflow well.

  • Hello !

Beyond the tooling itself, I would recommend spending time on the adoption strategy.

If you're moving from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 at the same time, I would avoid introducing too many new habits at once.

In many Microsoft 365 projects, the challenge is not choosing the right performance management platform but is getting managers and employees to consistently use it.

    From a Microsoft perspective,

    • Viva Goals can help with goal setting and OKR management across teams and the organization.
    • Viva Glint focuses on employee engagement and organization-wide feedback programs
    • Viva Pulse enables managers to run quick feedback surveys with their teams and track sentiment over time.

The technology matters, but adoption and management sponsorship usually determine whether the platform succeeds or becomes just another HR tool.

    Hope this helps

I’m handling IT on our side, and Teamflect was one of the tools I suggested our HR team (along with 2-3 other tools but can't remember all) look at because it fits really naturally into Microsoft 365. It covers goals, reviews, feedback, and a bunch of other HR-related stuff.

I agree with VasilMichev, Microsoft has parts of this across Viva, but not really a complete performance management solution. If you’re going all-in on Teams and Microsoft 365, Teamflect is definitely worth checking out.

Setup was pretty straightforward for me, I spent around 40-50mins for the implementation. They have plans that cover advanced security, logging type of Enterprise features but those were not needed for us. Their reporting is also PowerBI-based, which is a plus as its our standard as well.

First of all, welcome! Curious about what led your company to want to leave Google Workspace?

I honestly dont think you should use a patchwork of apps to cover performance management. Automations powered by one app and forms sent through something else only takes you so far. There are plenty of third-party apps that are also Microsoft Partners and feel really native inside Teams or Outlook that you can try. For performance management specifically, I can recommend Teamflect.
