Email settings conflict in Exchange Online
When a member of staff leaves our company, our process involves the following:
- Enable an automatic reply on the user's mailbox
- Forward incoming emails to another member of staff
The problem is that the forwarding of emails stops the automatic reply from working, even when the option to send a copy of the message to the original mailbox is enabled.
That's the expected behavior. If you want both, use an Inbox rule for the OOO reply. Or setup a transport rule to cc/bcc the email to other recipients.

Forwarding happens before the message hits the mailbox, there is no way for them to work together.
