Email delivery options for LoB, Apps through Office365
You have Line of Business (LoB) apps, Multi-Funcation Printers (MFP), Systems, and need to configure them to send email to intended recipients; internal users (within your organization) and in some cases to external/other users.
Your requirements vary:
- You don't want to incur additional license or dedicated mailbox for LoB, MFP.
- You don't want to setup additional infrastructure like a local SMTP server in your environment.
- You don't want your users to send scanned email to external email addresses.
- Some apps/systems need to send email to external users.
I have sized up on how you could mix and match available email delivery options at the same time to suit your various requirements in the Excel sheet available here http://bit.ly/2hN5E7r
- You don't want to incur additonal license or dedicated mailbox for LoB, MFB (Internal email delivery only)
- Use direct-send Option-1 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
- Email from HR/Intranet portal and in-house apps to internal users. (Internal email delivery only)
- Use direct-send Option-1 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
- You don't want to setup additional infrastructure like a local SMTP server in your environment. (Internal email delivery only)
- Use direct-send Option-1 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
- You don't want your users to send scanned email to external email addresses (Internal email delivery only)
- Use direct-send Option-1 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
- Some LoB/apps/systems need to send email to internal as well as to external users but don't want to incur additonal license or dedicated mailbox for LoB, MFB
- You can use direct-send Option-2 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
- Some LoB/apps/systems need to send email to internal as well as external users. And your application is hosted by third-party like Azure and sending through SMTP relay is not an option for you.
- You can use client submission Option-3 as mentioned in the Excelsheet.
