Corrupt files after using Windows File Recovery

Hi everyone,

 

We used the Windows File Recovery to restore 100s of deleted files.

All of these files seem to be corrupt though. Upon opening Word files ask what file conversion it should use and content tends to look like this:

ŝŸPA300Ø•¬Õ°^ÐÇÄ
[1] .

Or in PowerPoint is states: The selected file does not appear to be a valid Microsoft PowerPoint file. It might be a file created by a different program.

 

Why has this happened and any suggestions how to open the Word, PowerPoint and Excel files?
