Connected account leave a copy of messages on server

Hello,

 

can anybody explain the real meaning and function of Office 365 POP3  connected account option - Leave a copy of messages on server, as shown on image ?

Maybe that's if this option is checked, POP3 emails are only downloaded in office 365 email and if unchecked, downloaded emails are then deleted from the source POP3 account ?

    It's a pretty standard option for POP3 clients, and in fact all the "connected accounts" functionality does is to "pose" as a client and fetch your mail. Make sure to select it if you want to keep the original message intact.

      Hello, 

       

      thanks for your reply. So if the option 'leave a copy of messages on server' is not selected, all messages should be deleted, after they are fetched in Office 365 ?
