Cant Migrate Two Mailboxes - too many transient failures
Hi, do you have the option to move the mailbox to another on-premises mailbox database first, and then migrate to Exchange Online? I've seen that work sometimes when this error occurs.
Are you completely Exchange 2016 on-prem or do you have some 2010/2013 there too? If so, try migrating to the Exchange 2016 server first. I know by the letter of the law you shouldn't have mailboxes on the hybrid server (if you are using the free hybrid licence key), but this would be a temporary move only.
I've been struggling with almost the exact same issue - all but one mailbox moved successfully but this last one just wont go.
The migration log shows normal progression and then CommunicationErrorTransientException. Once that occurs something breaks and we get the following message forever
The job has been paused temporarily because the mailbox is locked. The job will attempt to continue again after <date/time>
I did read somewhere else that moving to a different database before migrating to 365 can work. Have not tried it yet. If you do, please let us know how if that works!
