Bitlocker locking me out of laptop computer
I tried to start-up my laptop yesterday and I got a blue "Bitlocker" screen come up and it is asking for a recovery key. It notes the reason "..because Secure Boot policy has changed."
- I never installed Bitlocker, or set-up. Frankly, I never heard of it.
- I checked my microsoft log in and there was no bitlocker recovery key in there either.
- I haven't made any changes to the computer recently.
- Computer is an HP Envy with solid state drive I believe
I am at a loss as to how to deal with this without loosing my data. I spoke to three computer guys and they were not familiar with the Bitlocker.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Your question is better suited for the Windows community. Can you confirm if you're using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Carl, This also has happened to me. I’m using Windows 10 and have already reached out to Microsoft support with no luck. My screen says, “You need to enter your recovery key because Secure Boot policy has unexpectedly changed”.
I have also used several different Microsoft accounts due to the nature of my career. There is no way to recover it from any of my past organizations. Could you please assist Meenah?
