Add People to New Distribution Group with Multiple Email Address in Contact

Hello,

I am having difficulty adding people to a Distribution Group (via Office 365 Online) that have multiple email addresses in their contact information. When i add a person with multiple email address i get this error:

"There are multiple recipients matching the identity "Doe, John". Please specify a unique value."

However, i can see no way to select the specific email address to add to the group. Any direction on where to specify which email address to add?
