Aug 04, 2023FAQ: Changing public offers to private plan - and using flat pricing + metered billing
Q: I am a partner who is ready to publish in the marketplace. I want to work only with private offers and want to create a public offer with 0 price and then offer private offers to customers that are interested in my product with real prices - and use flat pricing + metered billing in my plan.
What happens if a customer goes and subscribes to my public offering, and then I want to change that to private offer with the same plan. If I order a public offering with price of X, then accept a private offering with price of Y – the price will be Y. Correct?
Based on some testing I did, I think it would work, but since I don't have the ability to verify billing, I was wondering if you know of any issues with the above approach.
A: This may be a question of workflow.
- Customer subscribes to the $0 plan
- Ask for the person's contact info on the landing page to confirm
- DO NOT activate the new subscription
- Contact the customer and work out the private offer
- Customer subscribes to the Private Offer
- Activate the subscription from the Private Offer
