Not-yet localized courses
- Aug 10, 2023
Hi Joshua --
I apologize for the delay -- I have been able to get compliance clarification, please anticipate a direct message within the hour.
I truly appreciate your patience as I looked into this with the appropriate teams.
Thank you!

I just reached out to our localization team, to see what courses are in the pipeline and what can be done in the interim of courses not being localized. I will update, once I get an answer.

Okay, thank you Mindy. More than anything I just want to make sure our organization is doing things the "right" way. I know a lot of people would benefit from some of the courses that are not localized yet, so hopefully there is a reasonable solution for us to be able to use that content too 🙂

Hi Joshua --
Thank you for your patience!
The LOC team prioritizes the courseware and languages in most demand. Currently those two courses are not in the pipeline for localization in that language, but I did share your feedback.
Even when content is in English, MCTs can and do deliver courses in local language. Hopefully that will support the courses your organization needs for ILT deliveries in other languages. Microsoft Learn content is available in a broad language set, so referencing Microsoft Learn in ILT deliveries can also be beneficial.
Please reach out with anything else I can support you with.
Thank you!

Hi, Mindy
Thank you for confirming those courses are not in the pipeline currently.
"Even when content is in English, MCTs can and do deliver courses in local language. Hopefully that will support the courses your organization needs for ILT deliveries in other languages"
So do I have the right to translate my slides into the proper local language? From my understanding, ILT lessons require us to use the MOC slideshows. It would be unprofessional, if not inappropriate, to show my slides in English to a non-English speaking audience.
Using Microsoft Learn is great, and I always reference it in my lessons.
Please let me know if I am either misunderstanding the required use of MOC or our ability to translate those slides ourselves. With the learning material as-is, they are not suitable for use here and effectively lock that content out of our region. I highly doubt a 4-day course such as PL-500 can successfully be displayed with English slides while also maintaining our 4.25 rating KPI.
Hoping for some clarity as to how to navigate this. I am flexible enough to make my own slides/not use slides, or even translate the MOC ones, but it feels the rules are contradictory in this circumstance.- Mindy_AllisonAug 01, 2023Former Employee
Hi Joshua --
I absolutely understand and agree with you, that would not be the ILT experience we want for our Learners.
I am going to circle back with the Localization team to confirm and email them right now to ensure standards are met appropriately.
I appreciate you reaching back out. Stay tuned!
