Unable to Activate Microsoft 365 Nonprofit Grant – Eligibility Issue

Hello Microsoft Support Community,

Our organization (Al-Rifqa Organization for Community Peace) has been officially approved for the Microsoft Nonprofit Grant program. We received the confirmation email and successfully logged into the Admin Center using our organization account:

**Admin email**: email address removed for privacy reasons

However, when we try to access or assign the Microsoft 365 Business Premium Grant license from the Admin Center, we receive this message:

**"You are not eligible to buy this product"**

We kindly request assistance to resolve this issue so we can begin using the licensed services. Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Alaa Al-Hemeri
Al-Rifqa Organization for Community Peace

    Hi everyone,

I’m also experiencing the same issue. Our nonprofit (Vietnam Grace Limited) has been approved for the Microsoft Nonprofit program, but when trying to activate the Microsoft 365 Business Basic (Nonprofit Staff Pricing / Grant) license in the Admin Center, I also see the error message:

“You are not eligible to buy this product.”

I’ve followed the steps as instructed and confirmed our eligibility status, but still can’t assign or activate the license.

Has anyone here found a solution or workaround for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're running into this issue.

If you're seeing the message "You are not eligible to buy this product", it may be related to a verification issue—even if your nonprofit has already been approved. Just to confirm, did you receive an approval email stating that your organization’s eligibility was confirmed? If so, I recommend submitting a support ticket online for direct assistance. Here’s how:

      Microsoft Nonprofit Support Portal:

      • Go to https://nonprofit.microsoft.com/en-us/getting-started
      • Click on tab to contact someone in the top banner
      • Once you're on the page:
        •     Type “support” in the “How can we help?” box
        •     Fill out the required fields
        •     For “I am a…”, select “Current Nonprofit Customer”
        •     For “What can we help with?”, choose “Nonprofit Offerings”

This should route your request to the appropriate team who can help resolve the error and complete your license claim.

In Iraq, eligible nonprofits and charities can purchase a variety of Microsoft products and services through Microsoft for Nonprofits, often at discounted or donated prices, primarily through TechSoup Iraq.
Here's a breakdown of what a nonprofit organization in Iraq might be able to purchase:
    Cloud Solutions:
Microsoft 365: A comprehensive cloud-based solution that includes Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security, offered with donated and discounted subscriptions.
Office 365 Enterprise: Donated and discounted subscriptions providing cloud-based access to Office applications, email, instant messaging, HD video conferencing, and storage.
Microsoft Azure: Integrated cloud services for various IT needs like analytics, computing, database, storage, and web. Nonprofits can receive credits to use for Azure workloads.
Power BI: A data visualization and analytics tool to help understand organizational goals and impact.
Enterprise Mobility + Security: Helps protect the organization's data and keep employees and volunteers productive on their devices.
Microsoft 365 Copilot: An AI-powered tool to streamline tasks and enhance productivity, available as a discounted add-on.
    Desktop Software:
Microsoft Office Standard: Includes core Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and OneNote.
Microsoft Access: A database management tool for tracking and reporting.
Windows Operating System Upgrades: Discounted upgrades to the latest Windows versions.
Windows Pro Full Operating System: Full versions of the latest Windows OS for computer labs.
    Project: Project management software.
    Publisher: Desktop publishing software.
Visio: Diagramming and vector graphics software.
Visual Studio: An integrated development environment (IDE).
    Other Offers:
Donated and discounted subscriptions and add-ons to Microsoft 365.
Cloud support services included with Microsoft 365 subscriptions obtained through TechSoup.
Donations of Tableau Desktop for small nonprofits.
Discounted subscriptions for Microsoft cloud solutions.
    Training and learning resources.
    Important Notes:
Some donated products may be specifically for organizations operating computer labs.
There are limits on the number of donated licenses an organization can request.
Not every program may be available in every country.
It's important to check the specific eligibility criteria for each offer on the Microsoft for Nonprofits or TechSoup Iraq websites.

Are you trying to get the discounted Microsoft 365 Business Premium or the free one? The free one is no longer available. If you are not trying to get the free one, you can reach out to me, and I can get the licenses for you. I would need you to forward me the approved email from Microsoft. Here is my email mailto:email address removed for privacy reasons. We can schedule a meeting to discuss
