Azure VDI - Outlook Stuck on 'Loading Profile'

Issue occurs every morning and we have been chasing this up with the Microsoft support team as well.

We've tried a lot of things but switching to and from VDI's seems to eventually get people logged in. We've rebuilt mail profiles, safe mode, resetnavpane, disabled add-ins, updating Office, restarted VDIs, deleted duplicate user profiles on the VDI, deleted OSTs and temp files within AppData, cleared credential manager. One thing which seemed to help was running Microsoft SaRA. It said we had modern authentication setup on our tenant and the VDIs were using legacy. It performed the fix and sorted the issue right away. It looked to calm the problem for some time but more people started getting this again. Something to note is this usually happens in the mornings or just when someone starts work.

I know a lot of people experience the same issue but not come across a reliable fix so far.

We are experiencing the exact same issue. Microsoft keeps bouncing the ticket back and forth, but nothing is being resolved. It's not just Outlook for us—it's affecting all Microsoft Office 365 applications. Whether it's Word or Outlook, logging in and out doesn't make a difference; the applications just hang indefinitely.

We've also tried resetting Internet Explorer settings via Internet Options, following advice from this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/exchange-onedrive-and-teams-wont-connect/888a3fc9-c409-49d2-ac58-ace335a556e6 post .
Which seemed promising but didnt change anything.
SaRa suggested also the modern authentication, but that didn’t change anything, even though we use MFA.

The issue occurs randomly throughout the day once people start working, but the machine is far from reaching its capacity limits. Strangely enough, everything seems to work fine in the mornings.

Have you managed to find a solution? This is becoming an absolute nightmare for us.

So after quite a bit of digging and back and forth from Microsoft we found a cause which we found out about ourselves. KB5044273 had apparently been a known cause of the problem. The next day after we started uninstalling this update Microsoft released a patch, KB5045594, which has since fixed the FSLogix login issue for us. We've had this patched for a few days now and kept an eye on it hoping the first few days hadn't been a fluke.
I'll post the links we had come across. Hope this helps anyone else who might still be having this.

I probably should clarify. This is a general issue but its been more consistent in the past month or so. We started having long login times to the VDI's and checked event viewer. Seems FSLogix was a route cause which had a knock-on effect with Outlook loading profiles. We still get the loading profile issue but definitely not as often as it used to be. The patch fixed the login/FSLogix issue and we've had consistently less problems with Outlook hanging. Something we had to do is open Word before Outlook. It shows a 'sign-in' error by the users icon at the top right. Signing in in the yellow box before opening Outlook has been a decent workaround but Word doesn't always give the option.
