WHY HAVE FORMULAS STOPPED WORKING IN 2020 EXCEL FOR BUSINESS

The formulas displays but will not calculate. I think I check all the places that would cause this and do not find a selection that would just show the formula.
When I did get this to work after a few rows it entered random text but not what it should have.

- Make sure that the cells with formulas are NOT formatted as Text, but for example as General.
- Make sure that 'Show Formulas' has NOT been selected in the 'Formula Auditing' group of the Formulas tab of the ribbon.
I am not sure I understood the problem
the function still works in Excel 365.
maybe autocalculate is not active?
