Where is my drop down list to edit?

Hi there

I'm working with a worksheet that has Data Validation on a column of cells - a drop down list of document types (e.g. News item, Article, Proposal) that only permits you enter to enter one of the options from the list in that cell.

I need to add a couple more entries to this list, but I can't find where it is located! There are no other worksheets showing, so I presume it is 'hidden' somewhere. How do I find it? I've tried using the Data Validation menu option (screenshot attached), but it doesn't seem to tell me the location of the list. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Gareth

The screenshot shows that the source list is the range A2:A17 on the sheet RefData.

If RefData is hidden, you can try to unhide it:

    • Right-click the sheet tab of any sheet, it doesn't matter which one.
    • Select Unhide... from the context menu.
    • Select RefData, then click OK.

For Hans or anyone who can help...

I'm trying to edit a drop down list, as well, and I cannot find the source, as well.  However, my Data Validation/Settings window is not showing any "Source", so I'm at a complete loss.  Please see the 3 screenshots. One for each of three different choices of "Allow."

Thanks Hans. It was the 'Unhide' part I didn't understand. Thank you so much. It's so easy when you know how!
