Use Combo Box to select cell and go to it

I have a long list of items in an Excel worksheet. I what to create a combo box (or other suggested means, such a search formula/macro) that will scroll to the selected and display the sheet so that the selected item is in the top visible row. In effect, I want it to work as in Access, for example where the combo box can go to the selected record.
Grateful for help, please.

    tomc72 you could have a workaround with combination of combo box and vlookup function.
