UNIQUE broken?

Odd behavior with UNIQUE as of today. I can generate a unique list from a vertical range but not from a horizontal one. I can work around with a =TRANSPOSE(UNIQUE(TRANSPOSE(rng))) but it seems super weird.

Currently on Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20204) 64-bit.
