Times formatted cells that are then being used to mail merge

Hi,

 

I hope you can help. I have an Excell speadsheet with A/L hours & minutes worked out. When I was researching the best formatting was for this, the best I could find was Custom field [h]:mm (I changed it to [hh]

 

However now I am on the next stage of the A/L and I am trying to mail merge all of the details across in to word. When mail merging the time formatting doesn't come across. I have tried editing the fields codes in multiple ways, but none produce the actual same time figures that the spreadsheet does
