The file couldn't open in Protected View. Excel error from Power BI xlsx export
In the last few weeks, I have 3 users who have let me know about this error. When they save Excel exports from Power BI to download folder (using Chrome and Firefox), they get the message: The file couldn't open in Protected View
Anyone know of changes in Office 365, Excel (we're on the semi-annual channel, so we updated in Jan) that would cause this error to come up more often? It comes up when they export to Excel, but I can't reproduce. I can cause this error to come up by fiddling with my settings in Excel. However, they don't seem to have changed their settings recently and they can download files from other sources without this message.

To be clear, this is not the typical bar at the top, which says: That bar says: PROTECTED VIEW Be careful—files from the Internet can contain viruses. Unless you need to edit, it's safer to stay in Protected View. [Enable Editing]. No, this is a popup in Excel that says the opposite: The file couldn't open in Protected View.
