I'd never heard of "Banker's Rounding," wondered WHY? So for others who've never heard of it and the reason for it, here's what Google told me. And it makes sense!
More exactly, IEEE 754 defines 5 rounding methods, but banker's rounding is considered as default one.
"Round to nearest, ties to even" is the default for binary floating point and the recommended default for decimal.
