Sparklines - Something is preventing them from updating
I have a problem with sparklines not updating. It seem to have something to do with the document I'm using but I can't figure out if theres a setting I've missed or something.
The file is attached.
If I change any number in the data range. The sparkline will not update until you change something about its format.
The sparklines update correctly if I use excel web app but not the desktop version. I've tried multiple computers.
Something in this document is also preventing sparklines from updating in other documents while its open. Try to make a sparkline in a new document and it will not work until you save in, close this document and reopen the new document.
EDIT: Solution, or work around, in comment.
When examining the file I noticed that it stemmed from a document from 2011. There’s no visible data in the file that’s related to 2011 but originally it’s a template that’s been build upon since then.
If I copy the sparklines from the problem sheet to a new file they work when the problem file has been closed and excel restarted. So the problem must lie in some residual data from 2011. I haven’t figure out exactly what’s the problem but the whole thing can be avoided if I update all my templates to new documents. Not exactly a solution but a work around.
I still have the problem that old documents hinders excel from calculating sparklines in new documents if there open at the same time so If anyone reads this in the future and know what could cause such behavior, please leave a comment below.

I'm not sure what is 2011, but yes, if check XML structure of the document there is a lot of other info within. The question is what exactly prevents updating of sparkling lines.
Anyway, good to know you close an issue by moving on new template, thanks for informing.

That's interesting case but I didn't find what could affect. Within file structure it's a lot of additional information from the deleted content. Not sure how and what to clean.

On which version of Excel you are? I reproduced such behavior on beta channel, but on other ones it works as expected.
