    Janedb What makes you think the correct answer is 140.30? With a consumption of 8 and a rate of almost 354 for anything over 1.6 you are already nearing 2,300.

     

    I would change the formula a bit and note that you need to add an extra column in the rates table for the rate increase for each bracket and use that one within SUMPRODUCT. Then the answer in F12 becomes 2.428.79

        Janedb But that screenshot doesn't reveal anything on the rate brackets.

         

        Edit: When you divide 141.30 by 8 you arrive at a rate of 17.66 which is lower than the lowest rate in your table ???
