Problem w/sheet I think?

Everyone : Am new to Excel and trying to generate a report via Excel. I am trying to do the following:

take a file in what I'm told is in .csv format.

this file shows in Excel as having 3 columns in an order which is not what the boss said it should be. The first column should first have names first. This for some strange reason is showing in Excel as being in a column which is in the last place. The second column that is also out of order I think because its showing something as being a direct  follower of where the first column is supposed to be. Third column is also out of order. I think everything was mistakenly entered in rotating right and don't know how to fix so that  first column  goes first, then what was supposed to be second follows next and so on. HELP!!!

  • Hope it works out. If this was your solution, please remember to mark it as such so other can see the answer too!

    Hi there

Have you tried just dragging and dropping the columns into the order you want, and then saving it as a new file (so you keep the original in case something happens)?

To drag and drop a column:

    1. Click onto the column you want to move (e.g. A).
    2. Place your mouse in the line between the A column and the first cell, and you should see a four cross mouse cursor.
    3. Left click and drag to where column D is.
    4. Now move Column C (you said it had your headers) to where column A is.
    5. Reshuffle as required.

As there's only three columns, it shouldn't be too hard to shift them into the order that you want.

    Good luck!

    Cheers
