print preview and print not matching

That’s normal for dot-matrix printers like the LQ-310. That red area is the printer’s non-printable margin, not the file margin, so changing margins in Excel/Word won’t affect it. The printer just physically can’t print that close to the edge on custom paper. Your best bet is to slightly shift everything right or redefine the paper size/printable area in the printer driver (if it even allows it), but honestly with these printers, some dead space on the left is unavoidable.
