Pre-select next column option
Is there a simple way to immediately connect a word to a previous word input on the previous column?
E.g.
Putting 'Apple' in Column A will then only give me the option to select 'Fruit' in Column B.
Aware of the XLOOKUP function but found whilst quite handy for lists seems OTT for one word options. Or am I doing it wrong?!
Yes.
I'm attaching a sample of one way to do it. This requires a very much up-to-date version of Excel, in that it uses the UNIQUE and FILTER functions, along with data validation. If this isn't what you're seeking, please come back with a more complete description of the task you're tackling.
