Populating Cells from Reference Sheet with Info

Hello everyone,

Looking for some expert assistance. I'm trying to create product specification sheets using an excel spreadsheet. The goal I have is to have information in each of the cells for Product Name, Description, Item Number, etc., but based on the cell value in cell B1 (sort of like if B1 equals item # 314221 then the values in the Data tab will automatically change to reflect on the Spec Sheet tab. Is this possible using formulas?

OK....I've populated several cells with a formula that works. You can see the formula here in this image.

For what it's worth, I think I'd be inclined to use Excel as the data source and Mail Merge with Microsoft Word as the method for producing this sheet. Word would give you the ability to more flexibly format the output.

Yes, it's possible. There's a whole array of functions that can retrieve information from a dataset such as you have. Might I suggest that instead of images you post a copy of the actual spreadsheet used to create those images....that would make it easier for somebody to not only affirm the possibility, but even to write a couple examples. If you'd just as soon do it yourself, now that you know it's possible, here's a good reference to start with. In particular you might want to start with VLOOKUP,  or the combination of INDEX and MATCH.

Thanks for the reply I'll take a look at the reference. I wasn't able to drag the file to share it here, so I added a one drive link to the file to the original post.
