Phrases corresponding with code
- Feb 01, 2024
MathijsSerlie Like tis then? See attached.
By the way, any reason for saving the file as xls? That's an ancient file version.
Yeah, that’s the idea. But can you make it so that when I type a Language in cell D2 (Tab H_P_S) the translation, of the Phrases shown in row B, corresponding with the codes in row A (Tab H_P_S), come in row D (translated in the language of cell D2. Like the example text in green in tab (Tab H_P_S) using the data from tab ORIGINAL?
I have a new file attached!

Hi Riny,
Would you be so kind, when you have time, to check for me please.
For some reason the formula in the HPS tab (Row B and E) does not work with all the Languages in tab ORIGNAL.
You find an overview of the languages who do and don’t work in the tab Sheet 1.
I’m sure it is my fault, I played around a bit but don’t know what I did to mess it up.
Kind regards,
Mathijs

MathijsSerlie I recall using not the most effective formulas as you were restricted to xls files. Now I see you have attached an xlsx file. Does that mean you have "upgraded" somehow?
Anyway, the formulas will work but you need to extend the named ranges ('phases', 'languages' and 'codes') in the Name Manager. At the time, the names point to ranges that end on row 6081. But since then you have added a few hundred rows.

Thanks for your reply Riny, much appriciated. I learned something new and adjusted it myself in Name Manager.
Yes I managed to safe it as a xlsx file.
Kind regards,
Mathijs

I didn't notice the xls! That will be why Excel did not behave correctly, structured referencing in particular.
